Welcome to Melbourne and welcome to "Aussie Rules All Stars".
Melbourne is the birthplace of Australian Rules Football, or "Aussie Rules" as it is affectionately known by generations of Australians and home to 10 of the 18 teams competing in the Australian Football League (AFL). Nowhere in the world will you find a sport that evokes such passion and excitement. It is the people's game!
“Aussie Rules All Stars” is Australia's first and only Footy School created exclusively for visitors to Melbourne and newcomers to Aussie Rules alike.
LEARN all about "Our Great Australian Game" via our carefully designed collection of informative and interesting modules, including but not limited to:
“Our Great Australian Game” - with the help of our very own Footy Record, which is yours to keep, learn all about “Our “Great Australian Game” ….. from it’s interesting history, the unique rules, the current teams, the positions on the ground, scoring, the skills, the stars, how the Premiership season works plus so much more.
“Journey to the AFL” - follow the pathway of an aspiring AFL footballer from the Little League to the Big League. An interesting overview of what the AFL scouts are looking for in their search for the next big thing. Learn how the AFL Draft Camp and the National Draftwork combined with an interesting insight into thephysical characteristics of the modern day AFL footballer
“A Day in the Life of …….” - we explore a day in the life of an AFL footballer in a typical mid-season week and also examine some of the AFL statistics around things such as average player height, weight, age, wages, career length, career games, distance covered in a game, to name just a few.
“The Business of Football” - AFL today is big business and an understanding of the game would not be complete without recognising and appreciating the many stakeholders and beneficiaries the game is beholden to. From TV media rights deals, sponsorship programs, community programs, industry employment opportunities, game development…..etc. etc. the depth and breath of the AFL’s many roles and responsibilities cannot be underestimated as it continues to take a leading role in Australian society.
PARTICIPATE in a typical Aussie Rules training session. Your accredited Australian Rules coach will teach you the basic skills of the game:
- ball control
- bouncing
- handball
- marking
- short kicking
- goal kicking
Followed by a combination of traditional Aussie Rules group training drills and fun Aussie Rules-themed activities and challenges.

All our Coaches are fully qualified under the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme of the Australian Football League, as recognised by all affiliated State football bodies and by the Australian Sports Commission.
